Welcome to

St. Louise Parish!

We are an active and growing, ethnically rich community that invites both new and old parishioners alike to join together in Liturgy, Fellowship, and Service.

Our mission as members of Saint Louise Catholic Church is to proclaim the good news of Christ in Word and Sacrament, to build up the prayerful community of believers in all our diversity, and to witness God's saving love by ministering to the needs of others.

2016 Annual Catholic Appeal

This year’s Annual Catholic Appeal has us reflect upon A Future Full of Hope: Passion for our Faith, Promise for our Future, Care for our Community, and Love for our Family. Please prayerfully consider giving to the needs of our Archdiocese as we conduct the 2016 Annual Catholic Appeal over the next four weeks.  Thank you if you have already made your gift to the Appeal! If you haven’t yet, please return your pledge envelope today or donate online: www.seattlearchdiocese.org/donate.  Be sure to mark St. Louise as your parish.

Time and Talent Fair.

It's time to get involved, to provide service to others in need, and to meet follow parishioners.   If you are unable to attend the weekend fair, but are interested in volunteering any of the ministries at St. Louise,go to the "Get Involved" page and fill in the Get Involved Form.  Thank you for sharing your time and talent and answering God's call to serve.

This spring the following ministries are being highlighted:

Faith Formation - two groups are seeking new members.

  • Children's Faith Formation Programs - Geri Hanley, geri@stlouise.org.  Various roles are available, such as, catechists and teacher helpers to assist with faith formation, Christian Initiation for Children (CIC), First Communion and First Reconciliation sacramental preparation classes. There are many ways to assist Geri and her team as a volunteer during the course of the year. Sunday mornings and the Vacation Bible School are the main time commitments.
  • Youth Ministry Programs - Annarose O'Brien-Wilson annarose@stlouise.org
  • Crowd, Life Teem and Confirmation Prep teams have several openings with varying time commitments. They include:
  • Affirmation Team - sending thoughtful messages and cards.
  • Communications and PR - writing marketing materials and using the communication tools offered by the parish to raise awareness about Youth Ministry events and programs.
  • Confirmation Core - a one or two year assignment preparing those who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
  • Crowd and Life Team Core Teams - work to prepare events and classes during the year.
  • Fundraising - helps raise funds through various activities to defray the costs for families.
  • Hospitality - coordinates and supplies food / treats for weekly events.
  • Service Projects - teens participate in a number of events, such as: Thanksgiving Baskets, hanging Christmas lights, soup suppers, retirement center visits, etc. during the year. This group helps plan and staff these events.

Library - contact Dawn McIntosh librarycommittee@stlouise.org.  Volunteers assisting in the library should be able to work least 30 minutes per month in the library following Mass. We try to accommodate your preferred Mass time. There is a monthly committee meeting/work party in the library from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month. We are always looking for parishioners who would like to help with the Library, regardless of prior training.

St. Vincent de Paul - Contact Gina Haines SVDP_office@stlouise.org.  St. Vincent de Paul is a well-known organization at St. Louise supporting the material and spiritual needs for those seeking help from our community. We reach out by assisting those in crises, such as threat of eviction, utility shut-offs, hunger, and connection to other human and health services. We also try to provide a human connection to those who just need someone to listen and help them in a non-judgmental way to solve their problems.

We are looking for people willing to reach out with either home visits, intake support or help with our food bank. We need more people to be the face of St. Louise assisting those in need. The work is very rewarding. The familiar words, "there but for the grace of God, go I" helps us discern how we can help.

Ushers - Contact Pat Cline ushers@stlouise.org.  Ushers are the men, women and even children that help make Mass an enjoyable experience. Families are welcome to serve together. Following completion of an orientation and training session, ushers are put on a monthly schedule based on their Mass preference. Ushers serve on a team of four or more, so you serve every third week.

Training is provided by each ministry, and most have few criteria to join.
