Cub Scout Pack 641

Cub Scout Pack 641

We are a family-oriented participant in the Boy Scouts of America program designed for boys in the first through fifth grade. Our goal is to help the boys build character, train in the responsibilities of good citizenship, and to develop healthy physical fitness.

The boys learn and grow in these areas through Pack, Den, and Family Activities:

The Den:

Tiger (1st grade), Wolf (2nd grade), Bear (3rd grade), Webelos I (4th grade), and Webelos II (5th grade). The Den is the place where boys learn new skills and develop interest in new things. They participate in indoor and outdoor activities, and go on field trips. As a member of a small group of 6 to 8 boys they learn good sportsmanship and good citizenship. They learn how to get along with others. And they learn how to do their best, not just for themselves but also for the Den.

The Pack:

The Pack consists of all the Dens and volunteers. We meet once a month on Mondays. The schedule for the next year can be found here Pack Meeting Schedule.

The Pack Meeting:

This is a gathering for the Cub Scout and Parents. Siblings are always welcome! This is an important time when the boys receive their badge "segments" for activities they participated in, or their "advancement" badges. We also have special activities and speakers.

Family Involvement:

Family involvement is an essential part of Cub Scouting. We are able to be here because of our wonderful parent/family involvement. We survive because of volunteers. Every position is taken on by an adult who is willing to spend some of their free time to make sure Pack 641 is successful. Please talk with a current pack volunteer to see where you can help. (Pack Contacts) Your volunteer time will count towards your 40 hours required if your child attends St. Louise School.

The Uniform:

The uniform helps build pride, loyalty, and self-respect. Wearing the uniform to all Den and Pack meetings and activities also encourages a neat appearance, a sense of belonging, and good behavior.

Scouting Supplies:

The best store to go to for your uniform and other scouting needs is the Seattle Scout Shop at 3120 Rainier Avenue South, in Seattle. The typical uniform includes a blue Cub Scout uniform shirt, a Cub Scout belt, Cub Scout baseball style hat, neckerchief, and neckerchief slide. For patches you will need numbers 6, 4, 1 (for the left sleeve), DEN # (for right sleeve), Chief Seattle Council BSA (for right shirt pocket), Chief Seattle Council BSA Washington (for left sleeve), and World Crest (over left pocket). You will also need a book for your Cub's specific rank. For your child to earn belt loops you could also get the Academics and Sports program guide (not required).

Chief Seattle Council BSA: Visit the Chief Seattle Council website. It is a good resource for questions, activities, and training.
